Soft Tissue Release (STR)

Soft tissue release is a dynamic technique used to increase range of movement, reduce recovery time of an injury, reduce pain, and help to prevent further injuries.

This highly effective technique has an immediate effect on releasing muscle and connective tissue. It helps to reset the muscle’s memory, returning the muscles to their correct length and restoring balance.

STR also helps to release the specific trauma within the individual muscle fibres, reducing scar tissue and improving muscle performance.

STR can be incorporated into any clinical massage and will compliment other techniques such as Myofascial Release and Trigger Point Therapy.

Using a slight manual pressure, the therapist works above and below the area of trauma to create a false attachment point within the muscle. This isolates the area of injury, allowing the therapist to take the client into a pain free stretch to release the muscle fibres – it is effective in both chronic and acute injuries.

“The Soft Tissue Release technique was amazing! Donna incorporated this into my usual massage and the results were instant on my hamstrings, my legs felt so different and I hadn’t realised how tight they were.”
